Notion + Claude MCP
I have had "set up Notion" on my to-do list since 2024.
Feeling overwhelmed by the various projects I'm working on was the kick-start I needed to test out the Claude + Notion MCP.
MCP integrations with Notion, Google Drive, Slack, etc, allow you to use the power of Claude agents to complete tasks for you.
Here was my quick and dirty process:
1. Asked Claude to help me figure out how to manage my various projects A, B, C, D, E, F in Notion.
2. Iterated with Claude on its recommendations, arriving at a final two-phased plan that included creating various databases for different projects and a command center to see a holistic picture of everything I'm working on.
3. Connected Claude to Notion and asked it to implement phases 1 and 2 of the plan.
It completed phase one beautifully, in about 10 minutes.
It could not complete phase two (creating a "command center" that links to the various databases) because of limitations with the Notion API.
So there was a bit of manual work on my end (manual work in this day and age?!) to implement phase two, but all in all, I saved so much time.
I'd say the hardest part for me was shifting my thinking from my old process (YouTube tutorials + a lot of trial and error) to a new process of asking Claude to create a plan, iterating, and having an AI agent complete it for me. 💯
