Spiritual Intelligence

In the humdrum of AI news about advancements, investments, Pentagon contracts - it's nice to flip the script and talk about something human.

A recent Stanford Social Innovation Review article, "Welcome to the Era of Relational Intelligence" argues that our flourishing as humans depends on our ability to build authentic connections and trust.

The graphic below depicts the evolution of our "intelligence" as a species, forged by survival, environmental factors, and technological advancement.

The last phase, relational intelligence, acts as counterweight to an over-technological world, pushing us "back" into our shared humanity.

I would take this one step further, adding spiritual intelligence.

Not religious doctrine, but the capacity to ask deeper questions about our existence and to find meaning beyond productivity.

What gives your life meaning outside of work?

If you were to strip everything away - titles, degrees, social roles - what would you be left with?
