AI Workshop for Nonprofit Professionals at Loyola University Chicago

And another one! I facilitated a three-hour AI workshop for nonprofit executives working in human services, in partnership with Loyola University Chicago and Social Current.

I had a bla
st! 🤩

I started off with a presentation on the AI landscape, AI fundamentals and basics, considerations for organization-wide adoption, and techniques for individual use.

Then, I integrated a few case studies to hone in on the point of identifying a problem to solve when considering AI. 🤖

But the really fun part was the workshop!

Participants brought their own laptops, and we worked with Microsoft Copilot (100% use Microsoft at work) to create "agents" for a repeatable task in their workflows.

I'd love to say that all of the agents worked perfectly, but they didn't.
Some organizations limited Copilot permissions in One Drive or SharePoint, and others didn't have the license to be able to create agents.

We created workarounds for those cases, which is simply part of the AI adoption process. Testing, evaluating, and iterating.

All in all, most folks left feeling excited about using AI.

Mission accomplished! ✅
