Building a Skill

I admit it, I didn't build my first Skill until last week. I waited so long, but you don't have to... here are some tips to help create your first Skill.

First, what is a Skill?
Skills are a set of instructions that teach AI agents how to execute specialized tasks or repeatable workflows.

There are two ways you can build a Skill.

1️⃣ Ask AI to help you. Fill in the brackets as relevant to your work.

"Please use skill-creator to build this skill.
I keep repeating [this task] [every morning, week, month].
The output I need is [like this] and some files or context I use are [these].

Before you build anything, ask me questions one by one to make sure you get it right, like what my process currently is, what good output looks like, and anything else that isn't clear."

2️⃣ After you do a task with AI and you get the output just the way you like it, ask the AI directly in your chat to build a skill based off of your conversation.

Test, iterate, test, iterate, and voilà! 🪄
