AI Ecosystem Players

For me, learning about AI is not only about playing around with tools, but having a holistic understanding of the entire ecosystem and the power structures behind it. So naturally, I asked Claude about it.

It's no surprise that BigTech companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and NVIDIA control the compute, chips, cloud infrastructure... and AI companies themselves.

Here we go again, capitalism consolidating power to benefit those at the top.

While there can be an element of despondence at play when you see a this graphic of the ecosystem(and by proxy the dictators of our future, pun intended), I still believe that knowing is better than not knowing.

So I'm sharing this graphic so that we, the people, can see for ourselves how AI power is concentrated, and also as a reminder of our collective power and agency to shape our own futures.

Even if that just means dipping your toes in the water today by playing around with an LLM and deciding not to get left behind.
