It’s common knowledge that businesses have to innovate to survive.
So why does it feel like nonprofits are all on a hamster wheel doing the same thing year after year?
Sure, there are some nonprofits that are highly innovative, but the vast majority of what we do is a variation of the same thing.
❓ Is it because nonprofits don’t have the resources (read: time and money) to innovate?
❓ That because no matter what nonprofits do, our social, economic, and environmental ills keep increasing?
❓ That the pace of change can’t outpace our human capacity to counteract it?
And don’t get me wrong, I am not blaming nonprofits — I’m blaming the system that has created this vicious cycle.
It’s time to shake things up—and AI presents an opportunity to do just that.
